  18. <p>     LUCIANO BENETTON, purveyor of trendy-Euro garb, is making a
  19. special offer to FIDEL CASTRO, purveyor of untrendy political
  20. philosophy. Benetton has asked the Cuban leader, who favors
  21. an unconstructed military look, to serve as a scholar at an
  22. arts school he's building in Italy. The clothier believes Fidel
  23. would inspire a "revolutionary ardor" among students setting
  24. out on careers designing pricey sweaters. So far, no word from
  25. Fidel.
